OVERVIEW

Harbour was hired to provide a Feasibility & Design Study on an existing 1972 pre-engineered roller rink retrofitting into a new community ice rink. Harbour keenly evaluated the building’s history up to its present time, gave the client analysis on the existing site, existing building, zoning, and building code. Harbour proposed a “Reuse and Re-purpose” concept that would capture the spirit of building’s history and lower the overall environmental impact on the project. By developing the facility in 3D, Harbour was able to maximize efficiencies within the  existing structure and determine the most efficient location for the arena and the supporting program; reducing building operations and mechanical (Life-cycle). All of this was accompanied with a schedule that ran parallel with the model and an in sync estimated budget. This gave the client the ability to realize all project potentials  and realities all without effecting the environment or site.
