Sycamore Public Safety

On a team with StudioGC architecture + interiors, Harbour Contractors constructed the new Sycamore Police Station to better serve the public safety needs for at least the next four decades. The new building effectively accommodates up to 50 police officers on a building footprint of 22,000 SF. We provided renovations to the existing police station and constructed the new 22,000 SF addition.

The building is a two-story brick and block structure with a basement below grade. The lower level includes a training room/EOC and separate locker rooms for women and men. The main level includes interview rooms, records, the reception area, sergeants’ office, roll call/report writing rooms, sallyport and garages, booking room, three holding cells, evidence/property processing, and storage areas. The building’s second-floor houses administrative offices, a large conference room for team meetings, a detective working space with an interview room, and shell space for additional future needs for Sycamore’s public safety efforts.Harbour priced out alternatives that did not succumb to the overall design intent or quality to ensure the municipal budget was met for the City of Sycamore.
