Chevron Phillips S.I.T. Expansion (Cedar Bayou)
OVERVIEW
61-Acre Construction Site
Harbour Contractors, Inc. was selected as the general contractor for the Storage-In-Transit facility located at Chevron’s Cedar Bayou plant on a 61-acre site. The site was developed to accommodate 51,428 feet of ballasted wood tie storage track and 1,264 feet of direct fixation track. Additionally, 2,036 feet of the existing track were relocated.
Site Development
The site development included underground drainage systems, a lime-stabilized subgrade with a biaxial geogrid, and site utilities (including communication and CCTV), which were brought to the site from within the existing plant. Additionally, a concrete trans-load road, aggregate service roads, and concrete plant roads were added during this project. There is also a small office building to accommodate the expanded capabilities brought to the company from the added capacity of the S.I.T. yard.
