We have been busy in Romeoville building the new Aquatic Center and Splash Pad, located next to the Romeoville Athletic and Event Center.

As the unpredictability of winter approaches, our project team will begin to implement proactive measures designed to mitigate potential weather disruptions.

Currently, the aquatic center’s site work, splash pad, and envelope are nearing completion. Upon completion, the “Administrative Area” will enclose the space before the start of winter. At Harbour, we recognize the importance of adhering to the project schedule and ensure that doing so provides a smoother transition from fall to winter.

For this project, HVAC and Electrical coordination are required to power the rooftop unit to heat the “Admin Area” in the cold. The project site also has designated limited access to the natatorium via installed temporary barricades as the buildout begins. Utilizing specialized equipment to heat the natatorium will allow our project team to work on-site comfortably and safely throughout the cold months. Our team will also be adding large temporary doors to allow equipment and personnel entry to the southwest corner of the natatorium throughout the approaching winter season.

Cold temperatures and inclement weather require the implementation of additional measures for the safe and successful completion of all construction projects. Winterizing your construction site allows you to ensure safety, prevent accidents, stay on schedule, and protect the overall project investment.
