Harbour provided design-build services for US Silica’s two-story, 12,000 SF precast steel structure in Ottawa, Illinois. The facility sits on caissons and houses the company’s mining operations, training areas, and board rooms.
The updated facility replaces US Silica’s office building at the plant. After the new facility was finalized, Harbour demolished the old building and added a parking lot to accommodate the new offices. Construction for this project co-occurred with mining operations, and Harbour was able to provide substantial infrastructure improvements.
