621 Acre Intermodal Auto Rail Yard
Elwood, Illinois
The Joliet Arsenal, Deer Run Industrial Park consists of 2,200 acres with full build-out capacity of 17 million square feet of light industrial and office space in Elwood, Illinois. Prior to the August 2000 land transfer, the property was owned by the Department of Army and housed the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant, which produced ordinances for the U.S. Army until its deactivation in 1977.
The project team included CenterPoint Properties as the project developer and Harbour Contractors as overall program manager. Harbour also provided construction management and general contracting services for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe 621 acre intermodal auto rail yard.
