Founded in 1959 by Irvin “Red” Harbour, Commander US Army Corps of Engineers, Harbour started out as a bridge builder for the City of Chicago. The company, headquartered in Plainfield, IL, is now lead by Patrick C. Harbour and his son, Patrick S. Harbour and serves railroad, aviation, municipal, and commercial clients.
In the past 55 years, Harbour has provided general contracting, construction management, program management, owner’s representation, and design build services to a wide array of clients and has expanded with satellite offices in Chicago at O’Hare Airport and in Houston, TX. The team at Harbour Contractors has also won several awards for projects including a Distinguished Building Award from the American Institute of Architects, recognition from the Design Build Institute of America and American Public Works Association, Award of Merit from Midwest Construction Magazine, and Professional Services Business of the Year from the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Additionally several of Harbour’s projects have been LEED Certified by the US Green Building Council.
A celebratory Open House is being planned for this Fall at Harbour’s main offices in Plainfield.
